Homemade Flan















Mrs. Steele's Recipe

1½ pints Half & Half, chilled
½ box Plain Gelatin
½ cup Granulated Sugar
3 Extra Large Eggs
1 tsp Pure Vanilla Extract

Dissolve gelatin in small amount of cold water. In separate bowl, combine milk, sugar and the yolks of 3 eggs, well beaten. Beat on medium setting for 1 full minute. Pour into saucepan and cook over medium heat for 2 minutes. Add egg whites after they have been beaten very stiff, and stir well. Remove from heat, set aside for 10 minutes. Pour into individual dessert dishes. Serve warm or cold.
